The pale and perfumed 2020 Finca La Larga comes from a 45-year-old, head-pruned plot that names the wine, planted with mostly Tempranillo with the scattered plant of Bobal and other varieties at 840 meters in altitude in the village of Gumiel del Mercado. It was cropped from a warm and dry year, but they still achieved a light red that’s medium-bodied and fresh, with moderate alcohol. It has notes of strawberries and raspberries, bright red fruit and very fine, chalky tannins.
The wines from La Brecha are a breath of fresh air in Ribera del Duero. Produced with a much lighter hand in the ripeness, the extraction and the oaking, they are fragrant and perfumed, with freshness and easy to drink.
