The wine that stole my heart this time is the 2020 La Despeinada, which displays a more open color and is perhaps more developed but with a decadent nose that makes me think of a Château Rayas with notes of cherries in liqueur, brick dust and aromatic herbs. The palate reveals elegant flavors, a silky texture and a precise finish, with very fine chalkiness. This is a great effort for the year. Oh, yes, I forgot that it was produced with Garnacha! Stunning!
The wines from La Brecha are a breath of fresh air in Ribera del Duero. Produced with a much lighter hand in the ripeness, the extraction and the oaking, they are fragrant and perfumed, with freshness and easy to drink.
