96 poäng (2018), The Wine Advocate: La Rodeda is their coolest vineyard, 0.6-hectare plot planted 80 years ago at 350 meters in altitude with a northeast orientation that delivers very low yields and produced the second vintage of this wine, the 2018 La Rodeda. This is possibly their lowest-alcohol red (13.87%), a wine that is not easy to achieve in Priorat, harvested the 13th of September. They removed the dry or raisined grapes from the full clusters, which were put in a small fiber vat to ferment with the natural yeasts after being foot trodden. The wine underwent malolactic and completed 19 months of aging. It has a lot less oak than the 2017, the initial vintage, when they had to use a new barrel. This time, the wine now aged in a used barrel (and in 2020, it should have even less oak), and it expresses the sense of place much better. It has good ripeness, but there’s also added freshness; it expresses the variety neatly. Only 310 bottles were filled from a single barrel in June 2020.
