Parker 92p: The 2015 Langhe Arte is a blend of 90% Nebbiolo and 10% Barbera from Mosconi. The Barbera adds lush darkness and softness. The Barbera allows for Arte to be released one year earlier compared to your average Barolo. But the Nebbiolo is dominant because it is meant to introduce the grape to those who may not be familiar with it. You can’t co-ferment these two grapes, so they are vinified separately in stainless steel and assembled before going into barrique. Only 6,000 bottles are made. To the taste, the wine feels and acts like a Nebbiolo with polished tannins and delicate aromas. But the Barbera definitely plays an important role because you get a juicy wave of cherry and raspberry fruit as well.
